[ARCHIVED] LGBTQIA+ needs assessment survey posted -to help committee better understand needs

A subcommittee of the town's Human RIghts Advisory Committee has requested that we post the following LGBTQIA+needs assessment survey info on the town website. The results of the survey will help the Pride Team have a better understanding of needs.

Good morning Town Supervisor Feiner:

We were most pleased you are willing to post our LGBTQIA+ Needs Assessment survey on the Greenburgh town website. Below is some more information on the needs assessment.

Thank you, and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Greenburgh Pride team

To post on Greenburgh Town website:

The LOFT Community Center in White Plains performed a formal needs assessment of Westchester LGBTQIA+ community members in 2018 (https://www.loftgaycenter.org/stand_up_and_be_counted ). The findings demonstrated an increased need for safe social spaces, services, resources, and advocacy efforts for the LGBTQIA+ community in Westchester.

We expect the needs of the LGBTQIA+ community to be even greater now than in 2018, due to:

Currently, 1 in 6 members of Generation Z identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and 1 in 50 identify as transgender alone. Help us protect our school-aged children and make Greenburgh a safe space.

Greenburgh Pride is repeating a formal Needs Assessment of the LGBTQIA+ community in Greenburgh and the surrounding areas. Please participate in our survey so we can better understand the needs of the community, and use your input to help better allocate resources and services to the LGBTQIA+ community where they matter most!
