[ARCHIVED] Fairview Fire Department - "Sound the Alarm" Campaign

The Fairview Fire Department is excited to announce its new partnership with the American Red Cross for the “Home Fire Campaign”.

To: Fairview Fire District Residents

From: Chief Reiss

The Fairview Fire Department is excited to announce its new partnership with the American Red Cross for the “Home Fire Campaign”.

The “Home Fire Campaign” is making it possible for the Fairview Fire Department to offer our residents who are in need the opportunity to have 10-year battery-free smoke detectors installed in the appropriate areas of their home. The American Red Cross will provide the detectors, and your own Fairview Firefighters will complete the installation. The smoke detectors and installation are free in residential properties in the Fairview Fire District.

We are encouraging our residents to call and make an appointment to have smoke detectors installed in your home during our kick-off week held from April 24th through May 1st between 10:00 am and 7:30 pm. After our firefighters complete the smoke detector installation, you will have the opportunity to ask any fire safety questions you may have, including: How do I prepare and practice an emergency exit plan? How often should I test my smoke detectors? How do I properly use a fire extinguisher? We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this program. Appointments can be made through the “Home Fire Campaign” appointment line at (845) 673-1198. If you have any questions on the program or any fire prevention concerns, you can reach the Fairview Fire Department on our non-emergency number (914) 949-2828.

I have attached a copy of the flyer as well as a letter that has additional information for our Fairview families.  If you could help us spread the word to the community we would greatly appreciate it. Each and every smoke detector we install will contribute directly to making Fairview homes safer and could easily end up saving lives.
