TOWN OF GREENBURGH LEADERSHIP ANNOUNCETHE CANCELLATION OF SUMMER DAY CAMPS DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMICGreenburgh, NY - The Town of Greenburgh summer day camps offered by the Department of Community Resources (TDYCC) and Greenburgh Parks and Recreation will be cancelled for 2020 Summer season. After a thorough review of the guidelines provided by the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) for operating youth programs, along with day camps during the COVID-19 pandemic, the complexities of us moving forward will not yield the positive outcomes we are all accustomed to achieving. In addition, the four phases of the reopening guidelines outline by New York State’s governor, we have determined that we could not assure the safety, health, and well-being of our staff and participants. “Naturally, this is another damper on our current situation by not being able to provide an enjoyable experience, in a physical sense, for the youth that look forward to spending the Summer with us”, said Commissioner Andre Early. The town recognizes the physical, mental, and social service benefits our summer day camps provides for the community and hope to provide alternative recreational activities this summer.
