Fort Hill Road & Ardsley Road Intersection Safety

The Town of Greenburgh engaged Provident Design Engineering (PDE) to review the busy Fort Hill Road and Ardsley Road intersection and make recommendations to improve the safety at this intersection for both pedestrians and drivers. Town of Greenburgh Street Tree Inventory & Management Plan

In October 2018,  the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) awarded the Town of Greenburgh $59,280 for a comprehensive street tree inventory and management plan. The Town subsequently contracted with consultant Davey Resource Group to conduct the tree inventory and assist the Town in creating a multi-year management plan. Working with the  Department of Community Development and Conservation and Department of Public Works, Davey Resource Group finalized the Tree Inventory in May 2020 and prepared the final copy of the Community Forest Management Plan in October 2020.

Construction Projects

Reconstruction of Stone & Concrete Curbing

This project consists of the reconstruction of 5,480 linear feet of stone and concrete curbing at various streets in the Town of Greenburgh. Construction began in March of 2021 and is expected to conclude by the end of the year 2021.

Hot-In-Place Recycling, PCRM Cracksealing and Double Microsurfacing Treatments

Hot-in-place recycling is an on-site, in-place pavement preservation method intended as a corrective rehabilitation technique to roadways. The 2021 Hot-in-Place Recycling and Double Microsurfacing Project consists of approximately 53,394 Square Yards Heater Scarification and 1,156 Tons of Microsurfacing on various streets in the Town of Greenburgh. This equates to approximately 7.0 Lane Miles of roadway rehabilitation based on a typical 13-foot wide Town lane (i.e. approximately 3.5 Centerline Miles of roadway). Construction is expected to begin in April of 2021 with an expected completion date by July 2021.

Proposed Milling & Resurfacing of Various Streets

This project generally consists of milling approximately 25,344 square yards of pavement and the placing of approximately 2,500 tons of new asphaltic pavement on various streets in the Town of Greenburgh. This equates to approximately 3.32 Lane Miles of roadway rehabilitation based on a typical 13-foot wide Town lane (i.e. approximately 1.66 Centerline Miles of roadway). Construction is expected to begin in May of 2021 with an expected completion date by the end of year 2021.

Central Avenue Sidewalk Project

This project will construct approximately 3,400 linear feet of 5 foot wide (ADA) compliant concrete sidewalk and curbing along Central Park Avenue from the West Hartsdale Avenue intersection to the Marion Avenue intersection. Construction has begun with an expected completion date by the end of year 2021.
