If you believe you have been subjected to improper and or illegal action by a Greenburgh police officer or officers, you should file a complaint with the Police Department's Special Investigations Unit. The Special Investigations Unit is a special branch of the Police Department which is tasked with the investigation of civilian complaints. The unit exists outside of the department's normal chain of command which means its commanding officer reports directly to the Chief of Police. The information requested on the form is necessary in order for the department to investigate your complaint. After printing the form, please complete all pertinent areas and be certain to include a telephone number where you can be reached. Once completed, sign the form and forward it to Commanding Officer, Special Investigations Unit, Greenburgh Police Department, 188 Tarrytown Road, White Plains, New York 10607. You will be contacted by the Special Investigations officer.
