Greenburgh residents should bring their Con Ed account number or past 12 months of energy use (available at www.ConEd.com) to complete an application for a free whole-house energy assessment, available through Green Jobs–Green New York, a state program encouraging energy awareness and efficiency. In addition to learning what each homeowner can do to reduce average home energy loss—which amounts to approximately $700 per year—incentives and low-interest loans that are available for home energy improvements will be covered. The first 50 attendees to register will receive 4 free CFL light bulbs, projected to provide over $250 in energy savings over the life of the bulbs. To pre-register for the event and reserve your light bulbs, go to www.RenewGreenburgh.org or call (866) 495-2959.
