OOPS, SORRY ELECTION DAY IS A WEEK FROM TOMORROW FOR SCHOOL VOTE, NOT TOMORROW
Release Date: May 07, 2018

Sorry.  Election day is a week from tomorrow, not tomorrow.  Apologize for the mistake.

PAUL

DON’T FORGET TO VOTE—SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS ARE a week from  TOMORROW

The 2018-2019 Budget Vote and Election for School Board members will take place tomorrow for  the period July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021 at different school districts in Greenburgh.  Please be advised that each school district is independent of the town. Check your school districts website for hours  of the voting.  Under NYS law you only have one opportunity to vote on budgets and that is school district budgets. You can’t vote on town budgets.  You can’t vote on fire district budgets. You can’t vote on the county budget. And, you can’t vote on the state budget.  You can only vote on school budgets. So tomorrow’s election is very important. A chance to elect school board members and an opportunity to vote on the budget.

CON ED WILL MAKE A PRESENTATION AT MAY 23RD TOWN BOARD MEETING--WHAT THEY WILL DO DIFFERENTLY THE NEXT TIME THERE IS A STORM/POWER OUTAGE

Many  residents have experienced power outages in recent years. During the last storm this winter some residents were out of power and FREEZING for over a week. A few years ago many Greenburgh residents lost power for almost two weeks.

I have invited Steve Parisi , Vice president of Operations at Con Ed to provide the Town Board with an update on what Con Ed will be doing differently going forward the next time there is a major storm and outages.  Our meeting begins at 7:30 PM at Town Hall. You are invited to join us and ask questions. Mr. Parisi will provide us with an analysis of the March 2018 nor’easter.

Our meetings are televised on public access TV and on the town website: www.greenburghny.com

OVER 840 PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY WATCHED OUR YOU TUBE VIDEO ABOUT COYOTES ---highlights value of information meetings (like the one we are going to have about Con Ed later this month)

Two weeks ago the Greenburgh Town Board heard a very interesting presentation on coyotes. We heard from Kevin Clarke, wildlife biologist for the NYS DEC, Frank Vincenti of the Wild dog foundation and  Greenburgh Police Chief Chris McNerney.  Many residents have seen coyotes around town. The presentation  (link below) will provide you with tips -what to do if you are approached by a coyote.  How you can protect your pets from coyotes.
