Social Security at town hall today... motorcycle safety campaign kick off TONIGHT -7 pm

The Social Security Administration will have representatives at the Greenburgh Town Hall on Wednesday, April 26 from 9 AM to noon to assist residents and employees sign up for a social security account. This is a free online account that allows people quick, secure access to their personal Social Security information. You will be able to check your earnings, get estimates of future retirement, disability and survivor benefits. If you are getting Social Security benefits you will also be able to get your benefit verification letter, change your address and phone number and start or change director deposit info.
A press conference will be held tonight (April 26th) at 7:00pm at Greenburgh Town
Hall to kick off Greenburgh’s new Motorcycle Safety Initiative.
The Town of Greenburgh and the Phat Boyz Motorcycle Club have collaborated to present a
Motorcycle Safety Program on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 100 Hillside Avenue, White Plains, NY
10603 (across from Greenburgh Town Hall). This collaboration includes members of the
Greenburgh community, motorcycle enthusiasts and many local corporate sponsors (Empire
Harley Davidson, Hudson Valley Suzuki Kawasaki, Triumph of Westchester, Cycle Gear of White
Plains, Brendan’s Auto Body, Stop and Shop, Sam’s Club, Motorcycle Safety School and the
Motorcycle Safety Foundation).
This collaboration was started after the tragic fatal motorcycle accident on August 4, 2016
involving Greenburgh resident Andre Garcia. The goal of the Safety Program is to increase both
vehicular and motorcycle awareness and to reinforce the importance of motorcyclists being
properly equipped and obeying vehicle and traffic laws. New motorcycle safety signage has been
erected throughout the Town. The motorcycle from Mr. Garcia’s accident (photo attached) will be
on display at the event to remind motorcyclists of the potential dangers associated with motorcycle

Tuesday, May 9, 2017 - Better Breathers Club/Pulmonary Fibrosis Support A free, monthly interactive support group for people with breathing disorders or pulmonary fibrosis, sponsored by Phelps, the American Lung Association and the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Participants who use oxygen may switch to the hospital’s supply during the meeting. Light refreshments are served and reservations are required. Tuesday, May 9 and Thursday, May 18, 2017 -- Diabetes Educational Program for Adults This two-session educational program for adults with diabetes is held every month. Learn what diabetes is, what medications are available, how to prevent and manage complications, blood sugar targets, what foods to eat, how to count carbs and much more.
